Mockingbird Community Retirement Center (MCRC) is a group of people in Nashville, Tennessee who are have a dream to develop and operate a housing and community center designed for the needs of individuals who are:
- Deaf
- Deaf-Blind
- Hard of Hearing
- Late-deafened

Our Vision
To build a retirement environment which acts also as a community center for social and recreational activities for the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Hard of Hearing, and late-deafened individuals living in the region. A staff will support all services and will be able to communicate effectively with the all who live there or who use its facilities. All critical staff will be able to communicate with American Sign Language (ASL). All staff will be trained in working with Hard of Hearing individuals. The center will also have available qualified sign language interpreters on-site.Desired Levels of Living Arrangements
MCRC hopes to develop ALL of the following living arrangements. Independent Living would be provided first with the others provided at later stages.- Independent Living for self-sufficient individuals
- Assisted Living for people who only need partial support
- Intermediate Care for supported living needs
- Skilled Care for individuals needing nursing care
